For new installations please use the msi and follow the installation guide.

Important notice for upgrades: You will have to run the sql script manually. To do this open the 0.5.13b web application directory and navigate to installer\sql there you will find the sql statements. Run them in order depending on what version your server is running until you reach 0.5.13b.

#111 Display users in role when editing permissions
When you are modify portal or project permissions you can now see the users in that role.

#110 Display svn acl when editing proejct roles and permissions
when managing the project roles and permissions the Subversion acl is now displayed at the bottom of the screen. This helps improve the understanding of what impact the changes to the roles and permissions has on the access to the project. For example the project users group(default_User) is translated into a ? and Anonymous is represented as a *.

#109 Apache configuration for multiple portals incorrect
A new property has been added SvnIPAddress which is used when writing the Apache configuration file for a portal. The configuration now correctly writes a virtual host for each portal which allows multiple portals to run simultaneously.

#90 All authenticated should use ? in acl
When users sign up to SharpForge they are added to the {PortalName}_User role. They are also added to the svn user/password file. Subversion uses the ? to represent anyone who has a valid password. This role would generally have hundreds or thousands of users so writing it to the configuration file isn't feasible.

#7 Restart Apache after project created or configuration changes
A console application has been created which monitors a specified directory and then restarts apache if any files have changed since it last restarted. Its designed to be run as a scheduled task so you can specify how often you want it to check.

#108 Require SSL
If the application requires SSL the application can now be configured to enforce it.

If the setup program doesn't have the correct directory it cannot find any of the scripts used throughout the installation. installer: the installer ignores the "Create User?" check box and always tries to create the user. Resulting in problems as reported by palehorse above installer: first page of installer displays the incorrect version installer: setup wizard is minimized when launched installer: finish button doesn't close the setup wizard installer: the back button should be disabled after installation application's that run with medium trust and access the .net 2 configuration api's as noted by kevin here. user: no way to change password. server: administrator password must be changed immediately after successful installation project: no security on edit project details portal: no way to modify the portal permissions for creating new projects, admin's may want to lock this down. ui: front page typo. If this is true it takes the existing host name/application combination and updates the database. This post has the msi installer attached. The main updates for this release are: o) Installer improvements. The installer is now a separate application which is launched after the msi is run. This resolves most of these issues. o) SvnServe server. SvnServe can be used to serve the Subversion repositories instead of Apache. This means apache is no longer a system requirement. o) Subversion not required. SharpForge can now be run without needing Subversion at all. If all you have is IIS and Sql Server Express then you can still use all of the other features including work item tracking, release management and forums. o) Release RSS Feed. As releases are announced they're displayed on the front page. There is an RSS feed for this information. There are still problems installing on Windows Server 2003 which are currently being looked at.

Now when there is a project in the context there is a menu which appears with the project's code which gives links to the major functionality areas. This is a huge improvement. Reload the page and it should be fine If you get the error 0 portals found matching UrlHost localhost/sharpforge7 and the value in your web.config does match it force it to reload by edit and saving the web.config. It should load the correct value. From the installation the project Wiki and browsing source code online wont work, to get them to work do the following after completing the install o) move the browse directory up a directory to the same level as the main application directory instead of being a subdirectory o) create a virtual directory under the main application and call it "Browse" o) map this application to the browse directory you just moved o) configure a wildcard handler by right mouse click -> configuring the Browse application you just created, map .* to \Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll and uncheck "Check that file exists" The project code should appear the project menu but for some reason it wasn't only partially appearing when I was testing the install Running in low privilege mode the application cannot restart services. For now you will have to manually restart apache after projects are created or the svn configuration for the default portal changes.
